Harlan Coben's Shelter on Prime Video is the newest series from the thriller writer to have us absolutely hooked.

Based on the young adult series of the same name by Harlan Coben, Shelter sees teenager Mickey (Jaden Michael) and his two friends Ema (Abby Corrigan) and Spoon (Adrian Greensmith) investigate numerous interconnected mysteries around their town, which all come to a head when Mickey moves to Kasselton following the death of his father.

The first three episodes of the series dropped last week (18th August) and the following five are expected to drop in subsequent weeks.

Given the entire series is called Harlan Coben's Shelter, we reckon the song 'Shelter' is going to have some important meaning during the eight-part series, but what that exact meaning is right now, we're not too sure on.

The first time we hear the song 'Shelter' by a band called '34 and Out' is during episode one when Mickey, his dad and mum are driving home from a day at the beach and it's playing in the car. The family are singing along to the song until their car crashes into another, instantly killing Mickey's dad.

The song and the butterfly emblem on the album cover are then seen repeatedly throughout the series, with Mickey hearing the song whilst investigating Bat Lady's house.

Is 'Shelter' a real song?

In the series 'Shelter' is a song by a fictional band called '34 and Out'. However it turns out it isn't a song that was created for the series, but was in fact already a real song.

The song is originally called 'Gridlock' and is by music artist Butch Walker, who included the song on his 2020 album American Love Story.
