Last Thursday, Serena Williams, the 21-time Grand Slam winner, was playing a match at Wimbledon. Except that her tennis skills were not the topic of conversation.
She was sporting a crisp tennis whites by Nike that she showed off of in an Insta pic. She captioned it, "Kinda in love with my Wimbledon dress."
Instead of being wowed by Serena's total dominance of the game, viewers were more concerned with her nipples, which were showing through her sports bra.

Several people threw major shade at the tennis star on Twitter with a bunch of mean comments coming for her nipples. Many called them "distracting."

"I wouldn't usually comment on another woman's body, but could someone give Serena Williams something to cover her nipples...very distracting," Jess C tweeted.
"With all the money Serena Williams earns, why can't she buy a decent sports bra which covers her nipples properly," another user, Katie Fathers, tweeted.

Whatever happened to freeing the nipple?
The body shaming was reminiscent of the time Serena's sister Venus's dress at the French Open in 2010 scandalized viewers for frankly sexist reasons.
Serena's fans were not at all here for her haters. Many of her fans clapped back even harder on Twitter in defense of her body.

"Shock horror. Serena Williams has nipples. Outrage people, outrage," Emily Bridger tweeted.
Others straight-up called out the stupidity of the body-shamers, asking them if they had ever seen nipples before? Obvi not.

Serena has been killing the game since forever. Everyone should leave her strong, beautiful body alone!
