Sex/Life made its grand return to Netflix with season 2, but let’s be real: These six new episodes aren’t going to last us more than one weekend (or one night if you’re really dedicated). And sure, it was a great ending and all because (SPOILER ALERT) Billie finally got together with Brad (!!!). But now we wanna know what’s going to happen after they get married, which raises the all-important question: Is there going to be a Sex/Life season 3? Well, let’s get into it.
Is Sex/Life getting a season 3?
Bummer news: Netflix has canceled Sex/Life. Variety announced the news in April 2023.
One could argue that Billie and Brad finally getting their happy ending with the wedding on the beach and a baby on the way would be a neat and tidy way to end the series, that’s not how everyone sees it...including some of the cast! Before the cancelation news broke, Sarah Shahi (aka Billie herself) explained in an interview with TODAY.com that season 2 doesn't have to be the end, saying, "If the viewership is high enough, then absolutely we'll be able to see Billie and Brad and more stories and more conflict."
Has the cast said anything about the cancelation?
The news just broke, meaning the cast has stayed mum, but Sarah recently did admit that filming season 2 was actually "challenging" behind-the-scenes....
“I’m not going to put it down, but I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season from the people involved in the show,” she said. “It became a much different thing for me, and I’m not afraid to say that. I struggled with the material. I just felt the thing that it had the first season—I mean, I’m never gonna work for Netflix again now after saying all this, but I can’t lie. And it was definitely a challenge.”
